Samantha is a whole month today! I can't believe its only been a month and at the same time, where did the time go?! She seems so much bigger already than when she was born. I am going to try to take a picture of her in the rocking chair every month to document how she grows.
People have been asking how we are sleeping. Well we are doing really well actually. We usually go to sleep when she does. So we all go to sleep at about 10pm. She'll wake us up at about 2:30-3:30am for a late night snack. Then her and I will be up for about an hour or less and then she will go back to sleep until 6:30-7:30am. Last night I got a 5 hours in a row and then 3 hours. Pretty fantastic! Right now she is sleeping in a bassinet in our room. I suppose she'll be up with us for a couple of more months - until she outgrows the bassinet. I hate to think of her so far away in her own room, but that day will have to come soon enough I suppose.
She really seems to be a good baby (knocking on wood). We have been able to take her all kinds of places. She has been to some noisy bars and restaurants to watch the World Cup action, she went to her father's baseball game once and to all kinds of stores. She doesn't cry all that much but when she does it just breaks your heart. Right now there is no one magic elixir that makes her happy, happy. She likes her swing, but its not the cure-all. She loves to be outside and sometimes just walking out the door with her makes her stop crying. We spend some good time on our front porch swing together.
She seems to be able to see us and recognize us but she is still working on having it all make sense. It looks like she is staring at us or the ceiling fan or even Murphy sometimes. I can't wait for her to start interacting with us more and more.
She has outgrown most of her Newborn sized clothing and we are moving into the 0-3 month drawer. It makes me sad to already retire some of her cutey cutey outfits like this one...
Friday, June 23rd - 3 weeks, 5 days
Right now she has some baby acne which makes me so sad but every baby gets it. Just letting it run its course. It probably showed up at 3 weeks old. Its starting to fade already.
We go to our one month check up at the pediatrician tomorrow. We'll update the blog with the results from that tomorrow.
